Community Guidelines

The EV Community is open to everyone: EV owners, people thinking about going electric, and the specialists who work on these vehicles. Reading is open to all; a free account lets you post, comment, vote and message other members. These guidelines keep it useful and safe.

Be Respectful

Treat other members with respect. No harassment, bullying or personal attacks. Disagreements are fine; personal attacks are not.

Stay On Topic

Keep discussions relevant to electric and hybrid vehicles: ownership, charging, buying, repairs, servicing and the industry around them. Off-topic posts may be moved or removed.

No Spam or Excessive Promotion

Avoid repeated self-promotion. Occasional links to your business or services are acceptable when they genuinely answer someone's question. Businesses that want visibility should list in the directory.

Vote Honestly

Upvote what helps the discussion and downvote what does not add to it. Do not organise voting on posts, use multiple accounts, or downvote people simply because you disagree with them.

Usernames and Identity

You choose a permanent username when you first take part. Do not impersonate other people or businesses, and do not pick misleading names. Specialists are welcome to use their trading name.

Messages and Blocking

Any member can message another member directly. Keep messages civil, and never use them for unsolicited sales. If someone bothers you, block them from their profile or the conversation, and report anything serious.

Reporting and Moderation

Every post, comment and profile has a report option. Our team reviews reports and may hide or remove content, or suspend accounts that repeatedly break these guidelines. Suspended accounts can still read the community.

Safety First

Advice shared here is informal. High-voltage systems can be dangerous, so for battery, motor or charger work please speak to a qualified specialist. You can find trusted EV specialists near you in the directory.
